August 31, 2005: Realized a long-time dream of living downtown in a loft.

It's a new renovation from a 1932 warehouse. There are 46 lofts in the building, ranging from tiny 800sf models to over 1800sf ones. Mine is a cozy 1400+sf in a 2BR/2bath configuration. Being a loft, the walls are really just dividers. They don't go all the way to the ceiling, but just act as privacy utilities. The floors are concrete and the ductwork and steel girders are exposed. It's  a VERY different lifestyle, and I think I'm going to like it!

The roof of the building has a deck which will soon have a gazebo and some seating.

The nighttime version is even better. And it's QUIET, even though it's so close to everything.

Here's how it looks now, after some paint and furniture...

Thought the kitchen could use some color, too.... here's the white version

This room was awaiting a paint job...

...now it looks like this with a cayenne pepper colored faux finish:

...but the biggest change came from the master bath. It was hospital white... and I've been watching too much HGTV.

And nothing shows off your framed pictures and artwork like a 50ft hallway!
