MINI Cooper Madness!

February 15, 2003...

I bought my first MINI Cooper. It's one of the best decisions I've ever made.

Per MINI tradition, I gave the car a name (Scooter) and treated him like a member of the family. MINI even sent him a birthday card when he turned one year old!

Now, just short of Scooter's second birthday, I've upgraded. I ordered a 2005 Cooper "S" in September and it arrived just before Christmas. On Dec 26th, I picked up "Spunky" from MINI of the Woodlands. Going totally opposite of Scooter's looks with all the graphics, Spunky is plain vanilla in appearance. Cream-colored roof and body with black and chrome accents and a dark gray and black interior. Ordering a new car and getting to choose literally everything was a fun experience, and MINI makes the wait fun with online order tracking.

UPDATE: Spunky got wrecked by a drunk hit-and-run driver. He was replaced by "Traver", a blue MINI with white roof and stripes.

Unfortunately, a point came in my life when I needed a pickup truck and I couldn't afford two vehicles, so Traver got traded in on an Isuzu truck in nearly the same shade of blue. While I love the practicality of the truck (and the lower payments), I miss my MINIs and will someday have another one.
